MUJI is opening a hotel in Tokyo
Posted in Future, News on 7 July, 2017
Japanese retailer MUJI has announced it’s continuing to push into the hospitality industry and opening a new hotel in Tokyo.
The hotel will be located in the Ginza area on top of a brand new flagship store. The building itself will be 10 storeys high and have an additional three basement floors. The first six storeys and all 3 basement levels will be for shopping, while the sixth to tenth floors will be the hotel.
This isn’t actually the first hotel MUJI plans to open – one will be opening in Shenzhen later this year, and it already has some experience with interior design with its MUJI Hut prefabricated homes, so moving into the hotel industry is a natural evolution for the brand.
The Tokyo MUJI hotel is due to open in Spring 2019.
