This autumn marks exciting developments at Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour
Focus/24, the well-established design and decoration show (16 – 20 September), will be augmented by Focus/24: The Longer View (23 September – 11 October). Aimed to coincide to a time when the vibrant London scene is buzzing with art and design, it will bring refreshed creativity to the Design Centre, with opportunities for visitors to see more inspirational exhibitors for a longer period, alongside work by contemporary craftmakers curated for Future Heritage during the final week.
“The Design Centre’s convening energy brings together an extended line-up of world-class brands, talented designers and emerging makers,” says CEO Claire German. “Our pivotal role in the design community has never been stronger, and this longer reach will further cement our position as a vital industry powerhouse, and a platform on the global design stage.”
The thrill of discovery is something the Design Centre strives to bring to every visitor, helping people discover great design, and supporting those doing it best. There are always new reasons for trade professionals and design enthusiasts to come. Introducing Focus/24: The Longer View means visitors can easily return after Focus/24 for further inspiration to spark their creativity.
Focus/24
A permanent fixture on the interiors calendar, Focus/24 is the show to encounter the latest autumn/winter 24 launches and hear from the best in the business. This season, expect vivacious colours, beguiling patterns, innovative materials, alongside enchanting narratives and theatrical references, as leading names gather together to share their incredible know-how and design vision.
With 130+ showrooms, plenty of new arrivals, as well as 30+ pop-up House Guests including Paul Smith, Birdie Fortescue and Kathryn Ireland, this is a show where ideas are shared and connections are made. Talks, tours, workshops, demonstrations, meet the designer and grow your business sessions all add up to a compelling programme of more than 100 events, spearheaded by the main stage talks series, Conversations in Design.
Classic contemporary to cutting-edge; new maximalism to chic simplicity; urbane sophisticate to rural retreat, whatever style you seek, at Focus/24 expect a bounty of new designs to surprise and delight.
Focus/24: The Longer View
The Design Centre is an astonishing treasure trove, and there is always more to see and do than in a single visit. Focus/24: The Longer View encourages visitors to come back, with new House Guests in the Design Avenue bringing a raft of fresh perspectives.
Adding another layer is Future Heritage which has a track record for spotting the next big thing. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, journalist and curator Corinne Julius has carefully selected works from contemporary craftmakers including Borja Moranta, Tessa Silva, Nick Lees, Ana Christensen, Richard McVetis, Elliott Denny and Esna Su, pushing their chosen material or process further. With interior design placing ever greater value on craftmanship, visitors can also learn how to commission unique pieces for projects, get the inside track at discussions and demonstrations and discover ways materials and finishes have been taken in new, imaginative directions.
With its undisputed momentum, Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour continues to evolve and develop with its singular, confident approach.
