Set beneath the Tsitsikamma Mountains in South Africa’s Western Cape, @tamodiestate is a ten-suite retreat where @sophieashby of @studioashby has swapped spectacle for serenity.

Think a clubhouse that feels like a private country home, handwoven Cape Town rugs in olive, terracotta and lavender, and suites with fireplaces, freestanding baths and sweeping views across the reserve.

Nearly 80 per cent of the furnishings are local, layered with European vintage finds and art curated with Reservoir Projects.
